Letters from guests -

We can’t thank you and the Altrusa Club members enough for making Altrusa House available to families with loved ones in the hospital. You all are so loving and caring and make a very stressful time a bit easier for all of us.

The house is so lovely and so comfortable. I felt very safe and at ease. It was great to be able to fix breakfast and have a bit of lunch while my husband was at St. Vincent’s. My sons were able to stay with me while they visited their dad.

Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. God bless you as you minister those in need.

The Altrusa House

THE ALTRUSA HOUSE is located at 1116 East Mason Street in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

The first three-bedroom Altrusa House was opened in Green Bay in 1989. It was a welcome haven for out of town folks who need to be near the hospitals during a medical emergency. With Green Bay serving as a major medical center for not only Brown County but also Northeastern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula, the House soon proved to be too small. Plans were made by the Altrusa Club of Green Bay to undertake the building of a new home.

With the generous support from businesses, hospitals, individuals and other clubs, the new Altrusa House opened its doors in September of 2001. The beautiful brick building has 12 attractive bedrooms, a common kitchen & dining room, two living areas and full laundry facilities for guests. The Green Bay Altrusa Club and our sister clubs of Door County and Escanaba welcome you to Your Home Away From Home.

Families can cook meals, launder clothes, enjoy television or just relax. The Altrusa House also provides an atmosphere in which families can be supportive to one another.
